Innovative ideas are needed to solve problems in villages: Local Government Minister
The Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Md Tajul Islam emphasized strengthening the rural development academies, by organizing the people of the villages for identifying their problems and finding new ideas to solve them.
He expressed his thoughts while speaking as the chief guest at an exchange meeting with rural development academies on Sunday. Mosammat Hamida Begum, Senior Secretary of Rural Development and Cooperative Department presided over the meeting.
The Minister of Local Government said that, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has always tried to develop the social development of the village people. Rural development academies can play an effective role in policy and implementation through research to improve the fortunes of 61% of the people living in the villages. Moreover, he emphasized on increasing the revenue of the institutions through research.
In a discussion meeting on the progress of various development works in the Directorate of Public Health and Engineering, the local government minister said while speaking as the chief guest that the government is trying to fulfill the various logical demands of the Directorate of Public Health and Engineering, but it will be taken into consideration as far as possible to implement them. The meeting was presided over by Chief Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department Md. Sarwar Hossain, Secretary of Local Government Department Muhammad Ibrahim was present as a special guest.
At this time, the Minister of Local Government put emphasis on monitoring the proper utilization of funding for various projects. Directing the completion of the projects within a specified period, he said that everyone should pay attention to the fact that the projects play a role in economic and social changes in people's lives.
